2012 London

When a man is tired of LONDON he is tired of LIFE - Samuel Johnson, 1777.  We have been fortunate enough to visit London on numerous occasions but it’s never enough.  We returned to “our” flat just behind Kensington Palace for only a week (free mileage) of fun-packed activities highlighted by our return to Royal Albert Hall for the performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana - 400 voice choir, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, organ and two grand pianos.  Amazing!  We did the Big Bus tour (again) and River Cruise, visited Westminster Abbey (again), Windsor Castle, Tower of London (again), Victoria & Albert Museum (again), Buckingham Palace (again), Kensington Palace (again) and several favorite pubs (again).  Much has changed in all of the places we revisited.  Another highlight was going to the Dukes Hotel Bar in Mayfair for a “vesper”, the martini made famous by Ian Fleming in Casino Royale.  007 is Back all over London this year.  My Fitbit recorded that we walked 33 miles that week and we didn’t gain a pound - in fact we lost a few, ₤s that is!
